fuel filter help petrol PLEASE

help please, i just tired to get the filter off my 52 plate 1.8 16v and got one side off pretty easy but other side put up a real fight, i pulled at it for ages, i do have the proper spring clip pliers but still no good.

Anyway like an idiot i ended up snapping the plastic clip that goes over spring clip. So ive just put a piece of hose from the old hose to filter and now there no fuel coming through and thought that would work simple. It is clear through now but nothing, what have i done ....

they are an absolute pita, i got 2 new clips with mine and practically had to break the old ones out the get it off, thank god it doesnt need replacing that often

Yeh my filter didnt come with new clips not sure why. What a flipping faff! Majour rage, i still cant get the one side off the filter even with it off the car!

I'll be slowly replacing them with dubilee clips and pipe straight in!
