No Power Steering-You wouldnt believe it..

Ive got a 2006 Vectra 1.8 vvti and ive been having bother with the power steering, It would stop working and go heavy, then if you switched the engine off and started it again then the steering would work again.
Anyway today was different it stopped working altogether, checked fluid level and all plugs going into the pump all seemed ok, checked fuses again all ok, then i came across this (see pic) A nut missing, now ive had this car almost 3 years and this must of been missing all that time... Put a new nut on and power steering is working ok again...
Ive put this thread on so if anybody else has steering problems then this is something to check.. This is located next to the battery...

Is there a cable that goes to it M8 as mine has done it a couple of times but not thought anything of it normally in bad weather ie when it is cold.

Its a fuse by the looks of it.. right next to the battery.
Theirs is a thick and thinner wire comes from the pos (+) on the battery the thinner of the two wires goes to this...

I have had this issue today and because of your post I was able to make a effective roadside repair/bodge. I think I owe u a beer!
