    Well after a short spell away in astra town... I returned to the Vectra World....

    Had a Z20LET astra convertable on a 03 was chewing the petrol...

    And decided to upgrade to a 2.2 Direct Vec..

    and OMG... what a great balance of power and it fab on fuel

    What mpg are you getting? I've had my 2.2 about 3 weeks and so far I'm sitting at 35.3mpg, which isn't quite what I'd hoped for.
    If you're bettering this, are you using 99-octane or the normal stuff?

    nah my economy is crap too! about 30mpg i reckon.... 2.2dti

    I test drove a mates and of course i was giving it a bit of welly but over all i think i ended up with low 20's..... Ended up with the diesel 150bhp lol...

    I got 31mpg on my old 2.2 Direct, and now get 40 on my 3.0...

    Sounds reasonable mate. I get 37-38ish, bit of town, mostly motorway, but that's on my 1.8 petrol.
