Default Nasty hole in North Circular

Just my luck to be driving within the speed limit and hit a hole in the road. It was dark at the time!

Damaged the front nearside tyre so had to drive 90 odd miles home on the stupid space saver spare wheel. Have you ever driven, at night, at 50 mph on a motorway? It is frightening. The speed some silly s*ds come up behind you without realising that you are going much slower than them and they have to swerve to miss you. I put the hazards on for safety even if it is illegal to use them on a moving vehicle. Then of course you have the other silly so and so's flashing their lights at you.

The damage put the steering alignment out and when I had a new tyre fitted today they could not do anything about the rear camber which is out of limit. It is not adjustable so something has bent and needs replacing. So far £212 with more to come. I have reported it to Transport for London and got a claim number but that does not necessarily mean that they will cough up as they use an American firm of claims handlers!

So if you are travelling in an anti-clockwise direction on the elevated section where the A406 North Circular Road crosses the end of the M1 and Edgware Road DO NOT DRIVE IN THE NEARSIDE LANE

Sympathies Big Bri, I keep meaning to get a normal wheel/tyre to replace the space saver but keep putting it off (must be the “it will never happen to me” logic).

I hope someone has reported the hole already, as far as I’m aware the council needs to be aware of the hole before they will pay out on a claim.
