Buying advice 08 sri 150 what should i look out for

Going looking at a black 08 1.9cdti 150 sri 101,000miles tomorrow what questions should i ask common problems ect? Cheers.

Check swirl flap bar moves freely when engine revved (inlet manifold).

Listen for rattle that disappears when pressing clutch (Dual mass flywheel).

Poor performance under 2k revs (EGR valve).

Make sure timing belt and water pump have been done within the last 40k miles.

Very true. Car could have been manufactured in early 2007, and remained in stock until 2008. Possible, but not likely.

In addition, do the usual checks which apply to any Vec...

Coil springs in one piece (front and back), no knocking/squelching over speedbumps (cheap easy fixes, but will be handy to know, especially if you're trying to knock a few quid off!)

Also check for any sign of dampness in the boot (below the carpet), there are several ways water can leak in (poorly sealed aerial base, rivets in roof, bad window seal)

i had 06 zaffy b 1.9cdti 150 and had 112000 on clock and i had to-

flywheel n clutch
turbo
egr valve
alternator


never again i get high mileage but upto you m8

swings & roundabouts matey... my high milers have been far better than the Zaffy i bought with 35k on it

That's more your choice of a bad car than all high mile cars.
