    Unhappy Limp home mode

    Any advice please?
While driving around this morning I suddenly lost power and engine limits to 3k and EML lights - turning ignition off and back on again resets although the engine turns a few times before firing up. Can rev a few times before going back into limp home mode.
I have been driving Vauxhalls for years and after replacing the timing chain less than 300 miles ago at 34.5K I have got to say this is the biggest pile of poo I have ever owned!

    What car ?

If it's the direct then could either be the HP fuel pump, or the regulator, mine threw up regulator, was actually the pump

Sounds similar to what happened to me, get one from eBay and fit it yourself, save a few quid and it's a 20 min max job

    Yep 2006 2.2 direct.
Is it worth changing the fuel filter first?
Next question where are the filter and fuel pump located?

Any idea how much to get diagnosed?

Rang the stealers and they say there is an outstanding recall for my vehicle to replace the fuel pressure regulator - awaiting thier call to say they have the part - watch this space.

Bad news - its the pump!
Waiting to speak to vx on Tuesday to see if they will contribute.
Service manager at the garage agrees with me - a fuel pump (and a timing chain) should last longer than 35k!

57alan0 - I have a vectra 2.2 direct 06 plate and sometimes the EML comes on and then the car cuts out. It takes a few turns before it starts and does this again until iv left the car overnight to fully re-set and then it can happen again several days later. How do I find out if my car is outstanding on a recall for the fuel regulator?

    Thanks

I heard mention of a recall in a post so when mine started to play up I rang the local dealers and they checked the database and said mine needed doing. I also asked them about the handbrake recall and it appears mine has been done - I would ring and quote your chassis number and they should be able to advise.
