Default VXR to tune or not to tune?

    Two questions

1, Anyone used the Eibach spring kit ( the thorney motorsport recomended ones) want to lower mine but dont want to ride like its on bricks as with ids off its quite comfortable. Just want some feedback.

2, Thinking of getting a thorney motorsport remap too but again want to know what its really like, not just what the salesman tells you. Such as been told its better to run them on the dearer high octane fuel or you would possibly get dead spots.

Regarding the Thorney remap, suggest you have a look on VXRONLINE; sure to be some useful comments/info on there.

If you map it, you will have to run 97-99 Ron all the time mate, you mustn't use normal unleaded

I would ring up all the tuners, courtenay, regal, thorney etc then make your own mind up mate ... This is what I did ...

Your looking at 300bhp a 400 lb ft, if you think it's fast standard you'll be in for a shock
Mid range gains are 100bhp and 139lb ft :-)
If you want to see my graph, I'll pm you it

Also depends how far you want to tune as some tuners are not developing mods for the Vec VXR and some are...

The eibach springs are good, I had them on my GSi

Probably, but he comes to the dealer with the laptop and plugs it in. Cause they put vx's latest software in first then the remap goes in.

I've seen u and someone else have a bluefin on your going away thead earlier.

I was impressed with Porkballs's figures at the R/R .his was only slightly less than my AMD live map./have heard Autos do give slightly lower figures anyways ...so I'm very happy with mine then
