    Default My baby's off to the stealers...

    My SRi is off to the VX workshops tomorrow.

    I've got a problem which is either rear bush, or supsension related. After three months, it has driven me around the bend.

    Am trying to get it sorted before I go to France and Belgium next week on a alcohol resupply trip (Booze Cruise...)

    It means I will have to drive my wifes Corsa for a couple of days, but it could be worse.

    Good thing I got a bonus this month. I just hope VX can locate and fix, whatever the problem is. They don't have a very good track record with me so far, so this is their opportunity to redeem themselves.

    Knocking noise Kiwi??

    rear dampers and anti roll bar links are favorite..

    Vectra's seem to have a healthy appetite for their dampers

    Hi Mark,

    Driving around town is fine. However, as soon as I go over a speed bump or down a rough road, the passenger rear sounds like an old Morris Minor with squeaky suspension.

    Thanks for the tip...I'll point that out when I drop it off in the morning.

    Lower rear track arm, inner bush failure. £68 retail for the arm although it has both inner and outer bushes pre-assembled. + fitting fee. Always worth doing both sides (now not cheap)

    Roll bar link arms are cheap and can rattle.

    It turns out that one of my shock absorbers has lot all its fluid and dried up. So a new pair have been ordered, and I get to take the car back to VX for fitting next Wednesday.

    Have also ordered one of the new folding keys...

    Roll on Wednesday.

    Not a bad price there bud. Most others seem to be paying that plus programming plus VAT.

    Don't quote me on the price, I have been known to be wrong before...

    Its costing me £217.00 for the two shocks, so I simply asked them to add the key to the job sheet. Knowing my luck tho the prices quoted don't include such things as VAT....(I'll let you know the esact cost afer I pick the car up next Wednesday.)

    Still, I budgeted for around £300.00 total for this repair, so any change will certainly be welcome.
