    Default REG plate changing nominee

Has anyone with a REG plate that's sold it ever changed the nominee to the new owner by sending it away with new owners details ?

Once they have done it will the retention certificate go to them to forward or will DVLA send the nominee a certificate ?

5 weeks is probably about right knowing how useless the dvla can be lately from personal experience, the DVLA website states within 6 weeks (i believe without looking) so that means it could come in a few days, or any thing up to 6 weeks,

Who am I to say the dvla is talking BS All I know is what happend when I bought the new plate for my sister, I was the grantee as i paid for it and she was the nominee as it was going on her car, and the retention cert came to me not her.

5 weeks seems like a long time, i'd say that you'll more than likely get your cert in a week or so, When i put my own reg plate on retention a couple of weeks ago (So i could sell the vec) I posted the paperwork to our local dvla office on the Thursday morning and I had a new MOT & tax disc with the original reg number on it and a letter of authority for new plates back in the post the following Tuesday morning, so 2 working days was the turnaround it took for mine to be done
