    Default Revs Fluctuating

    Hi All

The revs on my Vectra 1.8ls (2003) seem to be fluctuating quite a lot recently. In particular when coming to a standstill at a junction, its even cut out once or twice.

This has only just begun to happen, I changed the plugs, air filter etc over a month ago. Also noticed if I keep my foot flat on the clutch it doesn't seem to fluctuate as much, sign of the clutch going?

I've cleaned the throttle body out a few weeks ago, oil change was done around 5 months ago.

don't these 1.8 engines suffer coil pack issues like some of the others...

I had the same problem on my 1.8, it turned out to be the egr. It was leaking/sucking air. To check if its sucking spray some carb cleaner on and around it while the engine is running, if it is sucking the idle will fall and almost cut out.
Could also be an air leak else where.

MAF was replaced when I bought it last year in October. I will look into the coil pack, thanks for the replies.
