    Default timing belt kit

i'm going to attempt my timing belt in the next week or so. I've bought all the parts of fleabay (genuine vx) but I just wanted to make sure I have everything I needed. See pics below.

Also, does anyone know what size sockets are needed?

    Cheers

i think if you need to ask what sockets you need your best leaving it to someone who knows one mistake and its game over

just because I don't have a billion tools in my garage doesn't mean I'm not capable of this job. I would say making sure you have all the necessary tools required before starting a job is a pretty sensible thing to do. Considering the belt has makings, the engine has markings, I have the locking tool and I will be turning it over by hand before starting it to make sure nothing meets and there is no resistance, I'd have to be pretty stupid to get it wrong. Don't see how making sure I have the correct sockets/spanners has any bearing on it?

I think i've only ever managed one job on the Vec where I wasn't missing a tool and had to put the car back together and drive to halfords. Don't fancy doing that with the timing stuff apart

For those asking, ebay item numbers:

    Waterpump: 330542369010
    Timing Kit: 270709562700
    Timing Tool: 180615266674

The seller that I got the timing kit from doesn't appear to have any listed at the moment but they might list them periodically. There is another seller doing them for about the same price but they don't say genuine Vx however I asked him and he said it was a Gates belt who i understand is who makes the Vx anyways.

Once I've changed my belt etc I'll be selling on my timing tool so keep your eyes out for it in the for sale section

'Not come across ribe fixings on vauxhall, all the fastening I've come across are Torx, eg Male T45, T50, Femail E16, E18 etc. I think ribe fixings have a different number of star points.
