    Default 3.0 CDTI Signum Review

Was wondering you guys with the 3.0 cdti signum what your review on the car is.

Have you had any problems with them?

I heard that if you put a tuning box on it kills the fuel pump pretty much straight away? Does anybody know the reason for this?

Also does anybody know how much a fuel pump from vauxhall is? Or any uprated ones that can be used?

Any problems I should look out for when viewing one?

Any help would be great cheers

1, only minor teething problems - new boost sensor.
2, on the later ones it can do. Its due to the already massive pressure increasing for more power, to the point that the pump cannot cope iirc.
3, think in the region of £2k+ if its the HP pump that fails.
4, DMF if its a manual - but that goes for any modern car. Any hesisation when accelerating at about 40mph in 6th. If it feels like its missing then it could be injectors - £700 each new from vx but can be found cheaper, or SCV's - £1000ish

Is that 2k for part alone?

Also does these have the DPF?

I'm looking at the prefacelift model, they more likely to handle the tuning box?

really DO NOT touch a tuning box , there 177bhp already and with a manual go like stink when you push the go faster pedal

    oh and no dpf either

OK cheers, I used to have the astra turbo running 300bhp and I wanted to go for something quickish, but without the 17mpg that I was getting from the Astra, therefore going for the 1.9 cdti 150 or 3.0 cdti

I am a great believer in "out of the box" motoring
If the 1.9 CDTI was supposed to have 200+ bhp, then there would be little or no point in offering the 3.0 V6 CDTI
The main advantage of the 3.0 V6 CDTI is the mid-speed acceleration, but we are talking 2 or 3 seconds and in day-to-day motoring that is negligible

However, on Scottish roads the 3.0 V6 CDTI is greatly suited to them
Toddle along behind a slow moving vehicle, say doing 40mph on a single carriageway, in 4th gear to overtake there is no effort and if you want a real oomph down to 3rd gear
