Default What is this socket thing?

Well, I have scoured the user manual and cant find what this thing is, also dont recall seeing it on my dads or my mates facelifts so maybe a preface thing, maybe not a Vx atall thing or maybe I've just never paid enough attention...

Its at the very bottom of the drivers side B pillar, just behind the bottom of the driver seat and it has a sprung flappy cover, kind of like the accessory socket but metal.

Did mean to ask last time I met up with some of you but slipped my mind so any ideas ladies and gents?
