    Default 2.2 dti limp

Hi guys, unfortunetly today the car lost all power, the engine light came on and she was hunting for idle, no boost at all.

i plugged in the laptop and it gave a few errors, the fult then went away for about 2 miles, then came back for a split second and solved its self, i then drove 12 miles fault free, turned her off for half hour then back on and the problem was their, turned it off and on again and another 12 miles trouble free..

the laptop im sure said code p0400 crankshaft speed sensor?

oh and while this is all happening the rev counter doesnt work,

Main question: would the EGR being faulty stop the rev counter working?

P0400 is an EGR fault mate.

As above p0400 egr malfunction , probably just needs a clean with carburettor cleaner .

where is the EGR on the old 2.2 dti? i cant see it? i went and started her their and she seemed fine..

stored faults where crank sensor no speed or something
p0400 critical malfunction of some sort, all the little pipes seem to be alright and the vac pumps are working and buzzing away.

Twaiter the egr is at the front of the engine just to the right of the dipstick , it has two coolant pipes going to it

The EGR on the old 2.2DTI (Vec B) is different. It is vacuum controlled and MUCH cheaper

Remove the engine cover and follow the boost pipe (it's at the front). The EGR is vacuum controlled on the old DTI lumps (or so I think lol).
