    Default DMF / Clutch 1.9CDTi 150

    Well you might have seen a recent thread about me and a mate changing the DMF on my missus's CDTi 150. It was decided that, as the clutch plate looked reasonable, we just replaced the DMF... So, we do the DMF and it drives like a new car, no rattles, no jerkiness, etc, then what happens 800 miles later... Major rattle / smashing sound, and lose all drive. So, out with the gearbox (AGAIN!!), we discover that the clutch plate had literally smashed

    A word of advice....... If your DMF starts to go, replace the whole lot... Clutch kit and DMF!!!

    All fixed now though, £300 lighter......

    i never known anyone re-use the old clutch mate , lesson learnt all the same

    Thought I'd try and save some money! Luckily, my mate helped me drop the gearbox again, and accepts alcohol as payment !!!

    I have read of dealersa wanting to just replace the DMF, this is the all time classic reason why that should never happen and why the slave clutch and DMF must be swapped as a pack.
