Default 2.2 DTi owners with modified exhausts?

    Hi guys.

Looking for anyone here that has had their exhaust changed on a 2.2 DTi. I already have had the cat chopped out but I've been looking round for a new exhaust. Current one is on its last legs, had to be welded a couple of weeks ago. I've been quoted £300 for a fully custom made one like Tuga32s (I think that's his name!) using the standard centre box backwards. However they said because they did the de-cat, they'll take out the centre box and change the de-cat pipe to a longer one. This means only two boxes in the exhaust - one either side at the back.

Now with my logic, because the middle box has gone but there are two at the back, it won't be a whole lot louder than standard. I don't want it to be much louder at all really - purely for a performace aspect of getting the gasses out quicker.

Has anyone done this? Or at least removed the middle box? Opinions and even better, videos would be greatly appreciated!

    Is right.

Well mine's on its way out - 200,000 miles have taken their toll on it. Good enough reason to get saving I think!

They are rather pretty though. Took my phone into the exhaust place and said 'can you make that?'

That shot of his car from the floor up is also my wallpaper. It's a pretty car and gives me something to drool over.

Had mine custom built by powerflow. Decat and stainless system only boxes are for the rear silencers. Used 2 1/4" tube to help keep some back pressure

First 6mths did not really notice much noise, now a year on man I can hear it when I stick my foot down! From 2k onwards sounds really good I love it!

Sounds good, is it a lot louder than stock when you boot it? One of the things I like about the Vec is it just cruises along quietly. I don't mind a low rumble but don't want it really loud either.

I know it's cheeky to ask, but do you have a video of what it sounds like? Just looked in your garage and the tip style is quite similar to what I was looking at too.

    *bump*

There must be at least a couple of people that have done this!
