Default First proper full detail (pic heavy)

The cars been treated well lately, last weekend richard (Kman) lowered the car 45mm on springs, (shocks will come later), and changed the front pads and changed the front discs to drilled and grooved ones i bought, who also got rid of the ghosting of my griffin on the boot which was cut into the lacquer but with some 3000 grit sand paper and a rotary and compound he got most of it out. Big thanks again to Kman really appreciate your help oh and the shock

So with the car lower and looking better all-round and with my new Kestrel DAS-6 i got this weekend i thought a good detail should be on the cards,

    Started sat 9am

    Rinsed
Wheels cleaned with Wonder wheels and various brushes
Washed with Ag Shampoo with wash mitt and 2bm
    Rinsed again
Clayed with AG Clay and AG Clay Lube
    Washed and rinsed again
    Dried With Drying Towel
Machine polished using 3M yellow pad and Megs Ultimate Compound
and a Lake Country Soft pad

had to stop at 1pm, as had to go out so went back out today and

AG SRP using the DA and lake country soft pad
Chemical Guys Butter wax by hand
Polished glass with AG Glass cleaner (glass also clayed)

First time with a DA and i was a bit cautious to start with but got most scratches and swirls out apart from a few long scratches but its the best its ever looked Definatly rate Megs UC altho i have Zaino swirl remover but not sure which is better

    anyway pics!!

    Then the enevitable happened....... Rain

    hope you enjoyed

just need a new really good polish and wanna try a really good wax if anyone has any they can recommend aswell as some good pads

    Dan

If you have any non-acid wheel cleaner soak the tails in that first, or any decent APC (such as G101 diluted at 5:1) or,,, babywipes one per pipe

Don't forget to go inside the tail-pipes as well as the soot is greasy and comes off easy to leave a clean metal finish, then a little W/C on a cloth to melt the burned on debris on the bottom lip as that is always a bu66er to remove
