Default Coding DRL's with Tech2 etc?

I remember someone posting up that they had programed DRL's with Tech2 or somthing like that.

I have just had a play.

    I had 5 options.

First was disabled (As factory set) and 4 others.

Changing them and programming gave me this:

Version 1: Front side lights only
Version 2: Front dipped and sides
    Version 3: Nothing?
    Version 4: Nothing?

The ignition was on (As I was coding) and the light switch was in the off position.

what version that work depends on your car.. but on some its for autolights, and on ealier models it was for front foglights as DRL.

    Mine has this: (2007 estate)

    Ignition on:

Version 1: Front dipped lights and side lights
Version 2: Front dipped lights and no side lights
    Version 3: Nothing
Version 4: Front dipped lights and no side lights

Didnt try with engine running. Always program with swich in position "off".

I have disable DRL on mine back and front and rewire with two relay so only the fog starts when engine running i position "off". I have also ordered LED`s for my fogs.

I just had the DRL's activated via Tech 2, but I'm not happy with the way they work.

I selected option n. 4, dipped lights only after the engine starts. This is good, but I have to leave the lights button in position 0.
If I put it to Auto, then all lights are ON all the time, no matter of exterior light conditions.

I don't understand what GM engineers were thinking when they made it like this.

I would have like it to leave the button on Auto and the car to do the rest: only dipped beam in bright daylight and all lights ON when the exterior light goes down.

Got the side lights activated but why Vx design it so that the dips come on when engine is started beats me.

Apparently you can activate the fog lights but I'm not 100%.

I have option 1 dipped and side lights. Personally I find the way the auto switch works perfect. It means I dont have to worry about adjusting my interior brightness all the time.

The only thing I don't like is that I still have to adjust the button from Auto to 0 and from 0 to Auto.

It should work only in Auto mode (dipped beam when daylight is present/all lights ON when night comes). Position 0 should turn all lights OFF. At least that's how I want it and that the way it works for other brands (VW, Audi etc.)
