Default Electric seat owners help please

Right, as some of you may know I've recently added full leather to my Vec, the front seats are electric, the drivers side control panel looks like this....

Now I only finished fitting the seats yesterday, when I had my first sit down in the drivers side I found the lumbar support quite uncomfortable as it was stuck into the bottom of my back, I'm presuming it's electrically adjustable but which button does it? I've powered up the adjustment buttons which allow me to go up, down, backwards, forwards and tilt the backrest down, but can't figure out how to adjust the lumbar support
What is the black circular button on the far left of the pic? it seems to go up, down, left and right but does nothing atm!

    Any help appreciated

This manual is newer than your car but the electric seat controls on page 5 and 84-6 look the same as yours.

That's the one, lumber support adjustment, but why doesn't it work with the rest of the controls?

That manual was for a later car than yours or mine. I don't have electric seats but I do have a manual so all I can do is read it and see if earlier cars with electric seats had electric lumbar supports as part of that like the later ones.

Well the lumbar support must be electrically adjustable because there's no manual control for it..

I've just had a looking my own manual. It's the April 2002 edition and covers my car which was registered January 2003 so it looks like it covers yours as well.

The section on manual seat controls shows all adjustments including the lumbar which is adjusted via the lever below the side airbag. However, the section on electric seat adjustments shows the levers and the buttons but it does not mention - or show a picture of - the electric lumbar adjustment dial (or a manual lever for that matter).

We really need someone with an early Vectra with electric seats to confirm, but I am wondering if early electric seats either had no lumbar adjustment (or it was controlled manually via a lever but this is not mentioned in the manual)...

there are a few different types of electric seats, yours is power lumbar/multi contour, they are rare and a expensive option when new,
have you checked the loom to the car that it has the connections for the lumbar?
most have the loom for electric seats, just not power lumbar

No the car doesn't have the wiring, I've had to make my own loom to allow me to electrically adjust them, maybe the lumbar adjustment needs separate wiring?
I still need to make wiring for the heated seats too

you'll need to wire up the button on the side of the valance, and then you'll need to wire up the motor that pumps the lumbar up/ deflates it
