    Default Uh Oh

Took car into Bristol Street Sunderland today to have a noise checked out, when the clutck is fully depressed it squeals (sounds like squeaky brakes) and when only slightly pressed it rattles like mad, spoke to Leroy yesterday who has had a very similar problem with his which turned out to be the flywheel (sorted under warranty) anybody else had this problem? Anyway just had phone call from dealer saying they would be keeping the car overnight cos the gearbox was now on the floor in the workshop while they investigated

Got car back last night about 6pm no noises from clutch but on driving home noticed that the exhaust was making a racket, phoned them back this morning cos it wasnt making any noise from the exhaust tuesday morning when i took it in, they said that i should have been told the first time i had been phoned that the pre work report showed that the flexi bit of the exhaust was rusty and was blowing, but like i said no noise from exhaust when i took it in, i think that they have accidently pulled/stretched the exhaust when removing the box but by saying that the technician marked ti up on the report they have in efffect covered themselves however i didnt get a copy of the report and was never told about it until I mentioned it to them anybody know where i stand with this

Go and shout at them. the fault you took it in for has been repaired, but the fault that is now there wasn't discussed at any point, therefore they are liable for the damage to your car.

They are trying to cop out of it by saying they should have told you. Cobblers. If there was a problem you can guarantee they would have told you so they could get a paid job from you.

    Just my thoughts.

    As per above..

sounds like they never installed the flexi-pipes brace when they disconnected the exhaust..

the book states that the exhaust should never be left unsupported as the section will tear if it's bent more than 15 degrees..

sounds like a bodged job..if it was a fault present at the time you took it in they'd have called to advise you and see if you wanted it fixed..

no callmeans no fault there in my book...sounds like a sloppy fitter to me..

Take it back and ask them to explain their fault reporting procedures..

just been up to speak to them face to face it appears that when they took the exhaust off they may have broken it and apparently the it is part of the cat which is under warranty anyway so they are going to replace it foc, but theyve had to order the part which wont come til tuesday/wednesday its funny though how when i phoned up this morning it was going to be chargeable but when i made a fuss about it it was sorted straight away.
