    Default Good Afternoon All

    Hey,

I have just swapped from an all French arrangement, wife having a 307 HDi and myself having a Citroen C5 HDi. The wifes 307's cam belt snapped writing that off, so I have traded mine against a 2003 Vauxhall Vectra 2.2 DTi Elegance with 65k on the clock. First 7 years of its life was with Lex leasing with FSH, and then a further service by a further 1 owner.

I am picking the car up tomorrow and want to make sure it is in tip top shape, so I will be doing and Oil, Fuel and Air filter change using Valvoline Engine OilSynpower Fully-Synthetic 5W30 Engine Oil.

So i have ordered all those parts plus a 36mm socket as I understand that is whats needed for the Oil filter?

Does anyone know where I can find out the oil capacity?

Also is there any other maintainence i should consider doing. i.e EGR valve clean, inlet manifold clean, coolant change etc

Anyway, thanks all for making this forum so informative and I'm sure you'll be seeing a lot more of me.

    Rhys

Hi mate and welcome to you.

If you have a manual the capacity will be listed in there sadly mine doesn't have the 2.2DTi listed or I'd have a look for you.

Rhys for a 2.2 DTi with a filter change you will probably use about 5.2 litres . depending on how the car has been used worth considering checking the egr , boost sensor/inlet manifold , easy way to determine whether this needs doing is to disconect the hose from the inlet manifold and run a couple of fingers around the inside if you come up with a hand full of Coke then strip and clean all of above gasket,s are reusable on the inlet manifold and egr

    Thanks All

Bob: Yeah I found that it was about 5.5 litres. It seems it's cheaper to pay National Tyres £47 to do the Oil & filter than buy it and fit myself.

They use Castrol Edge 0w30 and to buy 6 litres of that its about £60 + £10 for the filter and then i'd have to by the 36mm socket for £10 aswell.

I will be taking a good look on the weekend so will follow your advice.

I am really enjoying the drive of the Vectra compared to my french cars it is amazing.
