    Default brake problems please help

    hi all,

i have a vectra 3.2 elite 53 reg 04 registered and i have just tried to do the rear brakes pads, but cant get the piston back in to refit the pads, anyhow i have just read the how to and wish i had read it before i started the job because i now have a car on the axle stands with no means of getting out to buy the piston rewind tool, does any body have a link so i can buy the correct tool online and solve my problem.

    thanks in advance steve.

If your really stuck and cant wait?

Try using a gee clamp and a pair of mole grips. You've got to push the piston at the same time, turning it clockwise.
Be careful not to chew the boot, just grip the edge of the piston. If you where closer, i would lend you the tool.

I know its possible to push and turn them back in with a pair of long nose pliers.
Now I need a turbo to keep up!

Managed to do this rather easy with a clamp and a pair of pliers, so it's definately possible to do without the special tool.
