central locking........ help

got up to go to work today and the car was unlocked

wtf?
tryed locking it with the central locking but opens its self back up again straight away,the display on the dash says there is a door open and the chime goes off when driving.all doors are shut properly and there is nothing jammed in the catches,
anybody any ideas on what has gone wrong with it or how to fix it????

I would imagine it's the door open sensor for the driver's door, which is why it won't lock. Not exactly sure what to do to fix it, but I believe that the sensor is in the locking mechanism. You could maybe try cleaning and lubricating it, as this could clear the fault if it was just a dirty contact.

somebody at work thinks it could be the micro switch on the drivers door? does anybody know or be able to point me in the right direction to locate this???
