Morning all, thanks in advance for taking the time to help.
I have just purchased an iO Play (used) off eBay and I'm having trouble getting it to work in my 2006 Vectra with CD70 Navi.
I purchased a SOT-122 lead and I've connected it up without swapping any wires round or doing anything with the flying brown 'mute' leads. The SOT-122 has a flying red '12V' lead which I've connected to the +ve terminal of the cigarette lighter socket.
With the ignition turned on, the red LED on the iO Play's amplifier (the larger orange box) blinks every couple of seconds. The green and red buttons on the iO Play console also light up, but very dimly. (Incidentally, randomly twiddling the centre knob left and right a few times can cause the green and red lights to increase in brightness.)
At this point I would expect to be able to connect my phone to the iO Play via Bluetooth. As far as I can make out (from the limited instructions) I simply need to turn on Bluetooth on my phone and search for devices, and then pair with "IO PLAY" with passcode 0000.
The problem is that no matter how many times I perform the search my phone cannot see the iO Play.
I've tried this with my current phone - an HTC Desire - and my old phone - a T-Mobile G1 (HTC Dream). Neither phone can find the iO Play.
So my question is, has anyone else had similar trouble setting up their iO Play? Most threads I've read on this forum relating to the device do not mention having any trouble pairing.
(Assuming for a second the device is not duff, I was wondering whether it could be a lack of power? There's about 14V across the cigarette lighter terminals, and 14V across the +ve cigarette lighter terminal and the metal casing of the stereo.)
Many thanks,
Chris
