    Exclamation Is this right??

found this behind the front disc's..

both bolts that hold the strut to the brake assy look like this: (see attatchment)

infact there not bolts, its a threaded bar with a nut on each end, on one side, the nut has approx 15mm of threaded bar coming though it, the other side is harldy on.

now this is the same on both the OS and NS.. It dont look right at all to me... but i've been known to be wrong

opinions on this would be much appreciated.

think i hyave a bolt in me garage that i can show you but i`d get it

I know what you mean andy... but the nut i've pictured has threads inside it.

matt, i've had it in at a local vx dealer for a knocking noise at the front, they apparently replaced the struts..... ... maybe they didnt like me lol

Vectra C's that knock at the front are mainly due to steering arms. My last one had them changed and this one has a knocking which I asume is the same.

If it helps, I have just looked at mine and it is exactly the same as yours, so I would not worry, and I know mine has never been worked on by anyone.

    cheers matt ...

re: knocking: altho they changed the strut assy on both sides, it still knocks, but I gave up on them fixing it.
but if its the steering arms, i might just go and let 'em know

If you jack the car up and grab the steering arm, you may feel excessive play.
