    Default 1.9 cdti 150 auto vibrations above 70mph !!

    Hi All,

Over the last few weeks I have noticed that as I drive above 70mph, I get a slight, but very noticeable vibration coming thru my pedal. The only way I can describe it is that it feels like the car is running on 3.5 cylinders!!

About the same time I started feeling this, I had just had the 3rd injector mod, egr clean, & a new flexi downpipe fitted.

Just to eliminate the obvious, I had my front wheels rebalanced today, but still feeling vibes.

The car pulls like a rocket from start, & the auto box seems like it is ok. The problems seem to start at 70mph!!.

The garage where I had the work done checked for faults (not tech2), but non recorded.

    Any ideas?

    Regards.

Not just the pedal. I can feel it thru the car, but it comes up thru pedal.

The pedal and steering wheel are both pretty connected to the chassis so any irregular running will be felt in these plus the gluteus maximus (AKA the Ar5e) so it is a good indicator of irregular running.

My money is still on the EGR i have to say despite the cleaning it could have solenoid issues,,,

Got to have a look at a 2.2 Manual tomorrow, with a similar problem.
I told him i will check his inner CV joints first.

track rod ends can cause this problem to if the bushing is worn on it.

Thanks for the 3 above, I did have my wheels rebalanced, but did not think of looking elsewhere on the suspension etc.

I would think its an engine problem, but she accelerates like a lambo (!!), but problem starts at 70mph ish!! There is a alignment/suspension specialist in town, will book in with him to check out suspension.

    Sorted the problem .

Its amazing really. I was getting the vibe from the front end, but on inspection, my garage discovered this

What had happened is that a crack in my wheel, had deflated the rear o/s tyre. The tyre was flat, & me being a t@@t, didnt notice for a couple of days, its only a 35 profile so hard to tell at the best of times!!. When I did finally notice, & pumped it up, the damage had already been done to the inner walls. I did not notice because it was on the inner face!!

So, when I took the car over 70mph (on a private road !!) I got a very noticeable vibe from the front, which was actually coming from the rear!!!. I was thinking all sorts, screwed auto box, duff injector etc, etc.

The final bill - £250 for a pair of Falken 235/35/19's, £25 to weld wheel, £30 fitting etc. The car is now back to her old self, flying along, eating miles like nobodys business!!

    Thanks for all help.
