Default How to waste one hour

Annual Petrol Station Risk Assessment was due next week, being performed this morning
I wanted to be present for this one, as I disputed the previous one (but to dispute it you have to be present)

I agreed with most of it, some minor points of debate over earthing points

However my main objection (on last years inspection) were the kerbs
The previous Risk Assessment highlighted these as "moderate risk" with a recommendation to paint them yellow for easy identification
I don't mind the cost, if required, however the front of the shop was adapated the previous year to allow (easier) disabled access

I had read, in the documents that arrived some time ago, that due to some recent changes in H&S law that kerbs would now be upgraded from their previous risk level (taking ours from "moderate" to "high") as they were deemed to be "working at height"
As a result it was likely that painting would be deemed mandatory, along with no doubt some other stupid measures

Indeed the inspection reported these as "high risk"
However, when I asked to see the relevant document the wrong section is being referred to
Kerbs remain as "low risk" as there is little or no risk of injury of personal injury
If a slip, trip or fall did occur, it would be the same degree as if the kerb was not there
The impeding factor is the unlevel nature of the walkway and surface

    At last, common sense prevails

It was also agreed that the mobile phone warning signs could now be removed
However, a yellow "No parking" area has to be applied next to where the tanker sits, plus along its emergency exit route (and I knew this was going to apply)
So no more parking along the front of the shop, about time too
