Default Servicing - Isn't it great?

Put my Vectra 2.2 Sri in this morning for its 2nd Service (32K).

Got a call after about 1 hour.

"Hi Sir - Would you like a fuel treatment added (£14)" - "Nope"

"Advisory, your discs at front and rear have a slight lip.Pads at rear are 70% worn and fronts 60%.Would you like new discs and pads fitted (£180) - "Nope.Instead why you don't explain why I've had ongoing problems with my brakes over the last 15 months or so and the last time you took the front discs off and skimmed them.Ask the technician to explain to me why the "lip" has occurred again.I will speak to him when I come in."

"Fair play" to them for informing me,but honestly, as if £175 (+ the £150) for 2 x tyres isn't enough!!!

Looking forward to see what they miss out of the fuel filter, air filter, pollen filter, oil and filter, keyfob batteries and brake fluid. Last Service before the Warranty runs out in March.

In all fairness, that isn't such a bad price for discs and pads, was quoted the wrong side of 300 notes down here for the same. Did them myself in the end with the help of a friendly trade card holder and a mate who's ex Vx.

I just paid £132 inc VAT for its interim first service....

They just added the Fuel Treatment Fluid and didnt even ask me !!!.... but then again I dont mind, cos of the CR1 box on it....

He pointed out that I had 8mm of tread on all tyres.... and I replied "thats because you lot fitted a brand new complete set on Friday" - he said "oh"...

Got my car back after the 2nd year service 40K (car at 32K).Might sound like a bit of an ****, but I double checked the "ticked boxes" and low and behold. Air filter element not replaced and keyfob batteries not replaced. No big deal, but they ticked the boxes!!!

On the phone tomorrow. That's Arnold Clark Masterfit for you!!!

Here in Mexico is the other way around...you barely find out what was the problem or what they replaced....is a pain in the guts to interrogate mechanics at a dealer...and they always came with stupid aswers that make no sense at all.

    FYI

Called the branch this morning. All I wanted was an expalanation of why my keyfob batteries and air filter were not changed. If they would get them,I would fit them myself. No "big deal".However,I got the Service Manager on the phone, trying to patronise me with the "policy".Telling me my car was at 32K and NOT 40K,the air filter would get done at my next service. The batteries were signed out by a senior tech,so he would need to check with him.

I explained that I'm averaging 12K a year,so at my next service,my car would be at 44K,4K OVER the specified change. That is why I had requested it to be done.He told me that he didn't have a problem fitting one if I wanted it,but after his attitude, told him just to "shove it".I'll be doing my own servicing after this.Just highlights Arnold Clark for you

I had this problem, the car was booked in early for a service as it was about to change hands (become mine) but the lack of common sense ment they didn't do battery, spark plugs, wipers, blown head light bulb (which is displayed on the colour screen) etc. etc. All this needed doing 1500 miles later by the book. For your service money for which you would expect them to inspect things they don't, they will only do what is done for that mileage. I will never have them touch my car again.

When it went back he said the bulbs where fine, and rushed to get the job card with a massive smile on his face, this changed when it clearly stated "Driver reports O/S front bulb blown".

Basically they did ****** all and charged the company hundreds of pounds and stamped the book.

Its all about the money and @ £95inc an hour I expect quality and quantity.
