Default One for the Techs pairing radio and screens

Well had my Vectra in with the dealers today to unpair my CDC40 from the GID and then unpair the CD70 from the CID. So I had the CD70 and CID in the car when I went to the dealers to let them work at it and I went back to work (just around the corner from them).
I was't back at work that long when they called me and said they couldn't do it.
What they said was that the only radio and screen they can get working on the car was the CD70 & CID but not the CDC40 & GID. I questioned them on it and said the CDC40 & GID where the orignal of the car, they just looked at me and said, we can't pair on un-pair any out the units and screen even with the car pass. I just took the car back with no charge and said thanks for trying (yeah they really tried alright)

I'm really stuck in getting this done now. It is possible to do it yeah?

It should be possible for a Dealer using Tech 2...

Tech 2 can do a lot more than Op-Com and Vaux-Com..

Especially as the CDC40 is the Original unit, so if it was not divorced, it should plug straight in with its GID.

If he has reset the Head-unit and screen, then he may have got baffled, as he would need to do a lot of reprogramming.

The head-unit first to disable theft protection (with the Audio pass No),
Then enable all the relevant modules in the various CAN speed settings, then set the variance configuration and the correct Audio and Temp code indeces

    Then set up the display...
again CAN speed settings, Code Indeces, Variance configuration..

You have to do the Head-Unit first...
It will not work if you try to set-up the display first

Ah it's worth sitting up for your late night post Robsey. I might try a different dealer. The fact I have a CD70 pair with a CID from another vectra, would be cause a problem if the CD70 and CID wern't divorced from the orignal car?

If the screen and radio are paired, then that is no problem at all.

They can be removed as a pair, and refitted if necessary later as a pair.
    No Tech 2 required.

My wife's first CD70 and GID were paired to each other (and not to her car).
The only odd thing that happened, was that the speakers crackled and popped for five minutes after the radio or ignition was turned off.

We still have her original paired CD30 and TID, and these work fine if refitted to the car..

When we got her a replacement CD70 and CID, the original items were fitted to my Cavalier instead
We had this unit paired with Tech 2 into the car properly, without programming out any other radios etc..

The CD70 and GID still work fine in my Cavalier (I have programmed it a few times for BC functions and check control, without need for the audio pass).

    Hope that makes sense..

From what your thread says, I am assuming that either they or a previous garage have RESET the CDC40 and GID rather than merely disabled the anti-theft protection..
As said above - RESETting the infotainment system will need them to be completely re-programmed in, which would be like "war and peace" to explain in writing...

Hence why many dealer technicians struggle..
