    Default Before i start tomorrow whats the common problem

    ok so got the vectra 2.2 dti sri today, great car. bought it of my sister. shes always had a problem with power from day one, but she never botherd gettig it sorted,

    So basicly im sitting around 1000rpm then i put the foot down in 2nd gear the car pulls ok up to 2,200 then i get a sudden boost but it goes away straight away, i just want that boost to hold lol, so whats the most common problem on these, before i get my hands dirty tommorow

    Any engine management lights showing?

    Start with the vac system especially the connectors for splits, then check the boost pipes for splits & make sure its all connected up tight, then take the inlet elbow off & clean it all including the boosts sensor, then tackle the egr...
    also throw a bottle of fuel sytem type cleaner into the tank & give it a good run.

    sound man ill have a good bit to do tommorw then lol, no eml showing either so i was thinking a boost leak

    get someone to hold the revs down on boost while you look under the bonnet & squeeze the pipes etc... leaks will be apparent & split pipes are common on dti's

    so every vacum pipe and every intercooler pipe have been checked and no splits atol, so wheres the egr and boost sensor, and whats the best way to clean them?

    also any other ideas? when i let of the accelerator i get a pshhh high picthed noise is this common?

    ive cleaned the boost sensor, it made a slight difference it was packed with dirt, where the heck is the egr valve on the 2.2? its all ive left to try i think?

    oh an should i reset the ecu after cleaning the boost sensor?

    ok so egr valve all cleaned, dam that thing was dirty, took it for another run, still the same, dam im lost now, would the boost solenoid be playing up or air flow meter, ive no eml on the dash atol.

    any help from anywere would be helpfull lol

    did you clean the inlet elbow, the part which the boost sensor is attached...that too gets clogged up.
    AFM usually bring up the eml if faulty
