spanner light

hi guys the spanner light seems to come on when i start the car in morning which goes out after few minuits, but it wont come on if the car is warm. is it possibly glow plugs its starts ook and driver perfect..

allmost certainly the the glow plugs kamar,maybe one faulty one

i had same issue bud in January... raplaced all my glow plugs as part of the service & all good

You can't predict when repairs will be required
Therefore, spread the rest through the year

Tax = April / October (due to buying car in November)
MoT = June / December (official MoT is June)
Insurance = January (was December)
Service = March (was December)

If the car is starting OK I would suggest you could defer replacing the plugs for a month or two, ran mine with this problem for a couple of months last summer with no ill effects.

as KRH says bud no problem running a while if it's starting ok on a morning,spread the cost!

i think i will because it starts the same as it did a year ago when i got it..cheers guys

You want another member to say glow plugs if it offers further reassurance?

Ran a multimeter ohms check on my glow plugs. Negative wire on engine casing area and red wire on top of each glow plug at a time.

most were showing 0.03 and settled at 0.06 on the multimeter reader.

One showed a ridiculously high number in the thousands.

Chucked that one out and replaced it. (I had already changed all four - one a duffer).

No more spanner light coming on for a few minutes on startup for me any longer!
