    Default 19" tyre fitment question

hi all, not bout a vec but a astra 57 plate 1.9 cdti.

my mates needing to replace his tyres and hes looking at putting a smaller size on the front. at the moment hes running 235,35,19 all the way round. but looking to change the fronts to 215,35,19 is this going to cause any issues do you think? cheers in advance

Because the profile (the 35 in this case) is the percentage of the tyre width.

    35% of 215 is less than 35% of 235

The speedo won't be that far out, it'll over read by 2.2% but it would be the unforgiving ride i'd be more bothered about. 235/35/19's are quite "sporty" as it is

Plus it would be harder on the already fragile 19" rim on out terrible roads.
Now I need a turbo to keep up!

    As said,

    The speedo would read faster.
    Rider would be harsher.
Dry weather grip may be worse, but wet weather grip maybe better.
