Help asap, car off road

Well finished work get into car and start to drive home then start hearing this awful loud noise thought exhaust had fallen off and scraping the ground then the smell of rubber, pulled over and front right new 19" alloy tyre gone. Suspected spring so took tyre off and it is broken spring can't believe it new tyre as well. So what I need is advice about springs and shocks. Am thinking of getting lowered springs and shocks for the front now since it's gone. Can I just get springs and no shocks and what's the best springs to go for , thanks.

Cool are they easy to fix by yourself, so u just have springs and standard shocks??

What spec is your car ???? i.e SRi, Club, ...................

Best bet is to go for Eibach springs with Bilstein B4 dampers If you are changing the whole lot, if not you can use Eibach's with standard Dampers But may wear them (dampers)out if non SRi !!!!

LMF is another ........We may even have a club discount with them

If it was me i would change all dampers for B4 Bilsteins and the springs for Eibach Prosport will give you a nice 30mm drop and still be very comfy

found the cheapest price for eibach lowered springs is on ebay in the demon tweeks online store

I've never had a spring break just like to know...what happened to the tyre?....was the spring rubbing against the tyre when it broke or the wheel arch rubbing the tyre?

spring works loose then spins round and rips tyres to shreds

your lucky that did not happen on the motorway when you were larging it, the factory springs fitted to the western european cars are crap and well know to break.. go with the eibach kit as recommended and also do the shocks as advised if you haven't done that already...
