    Default Spare keyfob/Central locking

Odd one, my wife has my spare key (fair play, I have hers), and she noted the other day it wouldn't lock/unlock the Vec.
I took it apart, checked the battery was good, put it back together and it worked fine.
Went out earlier today, she needed to pop back to the car for something, key remoe buttons not working again.
Any ideas on what's causing it and how to sort it out?

Have you tried putting the "offending" key in the ignition turn it on so the ignition lights come on, but don,t start the car. Then press either the open or close button on the key fob. The buttons on the dorr should pop up and down, then it has re-syned" the key to the car. At worst you might need to go to a VX dealer and get the key reprogramed though. But try as above first.

Ok, thought there was something like that, was a bit puzzled when taking the battery out and replacing cured it. Why is it nothing that's been near me behaves normally.............
