    Default 3.0 v6 brake performance

the brakes on my estate have always felt a little, lets say, under sized and dont exactly fill me with much confidence.

I have no idea what type/brand of discs and pads are on there but I think i'll change them to see if it makes any difference

anyone any suggestions on a good type to use?

also, is there a how2 for changine the break fluid on this 3.0 v6 cdti lump? (it hasnt been done in at least 40k ), and again, any recommendations on fluid brand to use - is there any significant difference?

The brakes on the 3.0 V6 CDTI tend to lose efficiency in the final 25%
I tend to replace once they are down to this point

    VX parts will do fine
The front pads are about £60, the rear pads are about £35
The pad and disc kits (front or rear) are about £90

Brake fluid replacement should be done every two years, irrespective of mileage

its the same as bleeding any brake system , you just have to keep doing it until clean fluid comes through
always good to remove some of the old fluid from the resevoir and top up with new before starting
any dot 4 brake fluid will surfice , make sure its from a new sealed container though so you dont use fluid that has water ingress in it
