Default Scissor Jack for Vectra - Max Weight?

I managed to break my scissor Jack last year when I hadn't put it in the rectangular recess properly. The jack fell inwards and bent plus it went through my SRi side skirt. Luckily the car didn't fall to the ground as the jack still supported the car... just. I borrowed the neighbours jack and secured the car but my Jack was toast. I was meaning to get around to replacing it but 12 months later I still haven't done it!

So now I'm making a concerted effort to replace it and have been looking around. Popped into Halfords and their scissor Jack was £18 which I thought was a bit steep. There on new ones on ebay for £10-12 but they have a weight limit of 1.5 tonnes. Is 1.5 tonnes good enough to support the Vectra? How much is an original Vauxhall Jack (out of interest)?

    Thanks bob.

I had a brain wave and searched for Vectra-C jack set. I'm watching one on ebay. It runs out tomorrow. I'm hoping that it'll go at a good price.

    If not i'll try Megavaux.

I had the same problem on my signum, i was lucky that i also had a trolly jack under the car. I seen one in machine mart at the weekend but its only rated to 1 ton http://www.machinemart.co.uk/shop/pr...e-scissor-jack which i dont think is enough. At the moment ive got a trolly jack in the boot just incase.
