Default Why I wouldn't take my car on the track

This is the best example I've found recently that demonstrates why I wouldn't take my car on the track.

I'm sure he's having a good time, but he doesn't seem to care too much about anyone else.

That can't be a track day in the usual vein, surely!

Unfortunately I have been there and done that when the track was littered with what appeared to be nutters without a care for any one elses car.

Nutts Corner race circuit in Northern Ireland. Saw some very expensive and lovely cars get trashed there on many occassion, mind you they did only charge £20 for a full day racing which included St Johns medics and a tow truck.

I'm not surprised the stewards took his racing band away!! What a numpty!! I certainly wouldn't want to have him behind - and not even on the same track as me!!

    "Ya couple a fannies!!!!".

No way would i take my car on the track at Knockhill.

I've done a couple of bike track days up there on the RSV, but it was more of a track day "school" than an all out blat around the course with no rules.

On a similar vein, I was looking at arranging a trip to the Nurburgring and came across this really useful site: www.nurburgring.org.uk.

What scared me off was the insurance side of things. Apparently most people assume that because the Nurburgring is technically a road rather than a track their insurance is valid but it turns out that most UK policies (mine included) feature a 'de-restricted toll road' clause which voids cover. I could cope with paying for my own damage but what scared me was the possibility of causing injury to a third party. In those circumstances I think the insurer will pay up but will subsequently attempt to recover their losses from the policyholder (which is what currently happens in drink-driving cases as I understand it). That could prove ruinous.

After watching that i have to agree with the above posts, BOTH those guys driving style reminded me of my 1st attempts at computer games like BTCC and Colin Mc's Rally, total lack of ability to read the road ahead, too fast into corners that needed pedal coming out of rather than going in, still at least they went to the track to show how poor they drive, hope they dont practice on the public highway.

    Good watch anyway.
