does price make a difference for these, they have bosch and something else for 14-18 quid, autovaux do 1 for 14.50 and other places like euro car parts do 1 for £21 by hengst or something like that

At the end of the day it is a service item, you pay for what you get
If you plan to replace the fuel filter every 10K miles then it will be acceptable (otherwise why would the sell it)
However if you plan to retain the longlife service intervals stick with OE parts

The manufacturers often provide two types of the same service part; OE (fitted whilst a car is still under warranty) and After Market (a cheaper alternative to the same specification)

A good example of this is the pollen (air con) filter
The OE part is nearly £20 and well worth it (embedded with charcoal and can last up to two years)
The After Market part is just £10 but is nothing more than a piece of paper (and will only last one year)

Im struggling to see the logic here?

How is the OE one very much worth it, if it costs twice as much but only lasts twice as long?

If it lasted 3+ times as long, then you start to see the value.

It comes down to if you are happy to change the item each year or want the two year service life I suppose.

I also feel the OEM is a better quality material as well for the money as opposed to pattern or copy parts.
