Default Not feeling Much difference after remap / DPF Removal

    Hi guys,

This is my first post..Ive been floating around the forums for a while now since I got my Vectra CDTI 150 estate (December last year).. I absolutely love the car - Ive only had a few minor problems since I got it that Vauxhall warranty sorted for me (Vauxhall Newton Abbot very good by the way)..

I learned a lot from this site and Ive already had my DPF Removed/EGR Disabled and a remap.. I had to travel from Torquay upto North Yorkshire to have it done as no one does it around here.. I watched him do the work - And So far Ime not seeing any massive power gains.. It feels a little better - The guy said the map went in OK.. And Ive put a full blanking plate in the EGR to be sure no gasses get through (No light on so EGR must be fully disabled). Fuel economy seems about the same too (I will have to give that a few weeks though to see if its better or worse)..

Ive also cleaned the boost sensor (Covered in cr*p) EGR Valve and ran I can of 10k boost through it (All thanks to info on this form)..

The guys who did the work said it will be running 189bhp now and a lot more torque - It doesn’t push me back in my seat as I thought it would ie more torque..)

The DPF/EGR Delete was the most important thing to me - And ime happy with that - But I was also looking forward to more power..

What do you guys reckon? Sorry for the long post!

    Regards,

    Troy..

You will notice the difference between a mapped and no mapped car.

Sounds like not a very good map.

    What company mapped it?

    Thanks for the replys..

The company was called ECU flash http://www.ecuflash.co.uk

The garage is based in north Yorkshire.. They seemed very busy removing DPF's etc

Its 280 miles away from me (Ime in Torquay)..

Theres also no rolling road down here that I know off.. I will have to look into that.

    Regards,

    Troy.

As said a remap should make a big difference as to how the car performs, especially in the midrange. With a warmed-up engine, try flooring it in 3rd at 30mph LOL

I spoke to a couple of other places that were a bit closer but they wanted a lot more money.. and they were busy etc.. If i floor it in 3rd from 30 its got plenty of power - Like I said before it is better - The wheels spin a bit easier and theres a bit more torque steer I wonder if I was just expecting more - Or this remap just aint as good as some others.. anyone near me want to try it and see what they think?

There are none that I could find that would do all 3 (EGR, DPF Delete and remap) for less money than ECU flash - Plus all the ones I could find were really far anyway.. No local people doing DPF delete - Plus ECU flash did it the next day and gave a discount cos I came so far.. seemed to work out nicely.. I couldent wait to get it done lol and had a whole day to spare.... I forgot to mention ime doing the vent to atmosphere tomorow if filter and pipe come..

    Hi all,

Just a quick update - Ive been driving it around today on some roads that I know well (That I used to hoof it on before remap) And I have noticed diffrences - It does pull harder.. But now I have a slight problem... My engine light has appeared on ignition, but going off when engine starts (meaning a stored code as ive had before) I quickly hooked up my code reader to see what it is but it states 'no codes found'..? Ive used this reader many times before with no problem..... The light is the yellow car with spanner and it normally goes out along with ABS lights etc after ignition checks etc After the works it went off as normal cos I checked..

Has anyone else ever had this problem?

    Thanks,
    Troy.
