    Smile torque 1st & 2nd gear 150 cdti

    hi

does anyone know if the torque is limited in 1st and 2nd gear in 1.9 150 cdti?

if so, can it be adjusted in remap?

    cheers

Car can reduce torque when cold to protect itself if that is what you mean?

Like maximum revs are limited on a cold engine. 4000 max on a CDTI 150.

Its not limiters in a specific gear. But its a limits in the map. This can be adjust in tha map and must be done if you want to tune your car. Look at the picture, left upper corner its the torque limits. This maps its not optimal så dont care about the value.

Its normal to let the limits be on low revs or set then a bit higher, and set the limits high on higher revs. Or else dmf and other drivetrain part can snap.

So on a remapped car, the torque limits at low revs would most likely remain unchanged, and altered higher up the rev range (which is where you would really want it)?

Sorry if this seems an obvious question; on both Vectras I have had remapped, I noticed no difference low down after the remap, which would be a small price to pay if it kept your drivetrain intact.

There is not so much more power accessable, but some is it around 1000-1500 rpm. But its different from tuner to tuner where they set the limits at low revs. The most serious tuner I know he is very conservative and let the limits stay unchanged at low revs, especially cars that generally had problems with dmf.
