    Default The trans-oceanic express!

I'm safely back from my French holiday, and I had a brilliant time. Saw friends and family, ate some fantastic food, drunk some excellent wine. I wasn't sure it was going to to be that good when we picked up our hire car at Bourdeaux (it's really too far to drive down for just one week). We walked out and found we'd got (brace yourselves) ........A Citroen C1!!
It was tiny, but we managed to drop the back seats down to get our luggage in, and off we went. It wasn't incredibly fast, but would cruise at 80, had enough legroom for me, and took us from Bordeaux (on the Atlantic coast) to Carcassone (by the Mediterranean) with remarkable ease, and used very little petrol in the process -hence the name!
With the aid of good old Tom Tom we never got lost once, and I actually got quite attached to the little beastie. Sometimes it's nice to drive a car that you can thrash the nadgers off without getting locked up!
My car now feels like the QE2, with rocket thrusters.......

    Did I miss anything?

What is the "New Posts" page telling you??

    Nothing major though.

Sounds as though you had a great time. What engine did the C1 have in it?

The C1 has a .........wait for it..... 1.0 3-cylinder beast, putting out a whole 64 bhp!
The only advantage was that, like all 3-pots it sounded a bit like half a Porsche when you wound it up.

I wish I had the time to get that bored!
It's 2 hours to the British coast, then Calais and 10 hours drive, or St Malo and a shorter drive, but a massive bill fo rthe crossing.
I live 10 minutes from Luton airport, and it's a 1 hour 20 minute flight, which cost £120 for both of us, return.
Car hire was £118 for a week, so we're still quids in.

    Me, too.
I didn't want to pay C5 prices though!
You always used to get a Clio when you booked an economy class, so they seem to have slotted a smaller class in now.
