    Default Brake Pads

    No warnings yet but after getting a puncture on a rear tyre and having to fit the ultra stylish space saver,I noticed my rear pads are "low" and I'm assuming the fronts won't be too far away.My car has covered 32K and I've owned it since 11K so I'm assuming the pads are originals.A couple of questions ;

    Is this about the right mileage for a change?

    Factory or aftermarket? Factory fronts around £39 + VAT.Rears £19 + VAT
    or Mintex from partsforsaabs Front MDB2262 £27 Rears MDB2281 £19?

    Does the "factory" pads have sensors? Do the Mintex ?

    My pads lasted 44k. The low pads warning sensor is on the front passenger side only matey.

    I got a new set of pads and discs all round for £105.00 including vat.

    I've just had the pads changed all round at 43k too, I was a bit surprised that the rears had worn so much. Other cars i've had tend to be baised towards the front and wear the fronts out first !

    I was surprised to see my rears had worn first as well. Maybe we should get a poll going and report this to Vx.

    My front pad warning light has just come on today at 30k.

    I have ordered the EBC Red stuff ceramic brake pads from

    http://www.ebcbrakesdirect.com/car/info.asp

    Expensive but my friends all have good things to say about them. Should be here tomorrrow and i will fit at weekend. Might paint up calipers at same time too. Watch this space..

    Changed the pads yesterday, didnt get time to paint calipers as rain was imminent.

    Brake warning sensor was only on two days and it had already scored and broke the end of it off. Light is still on so will get a new one on Monday.

    Must be my heavy left foot.

    Default No Brakes F& R

    Just had mine done, but word of warning, chap said my painting was sloppy (cheek) and got onto a part of the caliper mechanism stopping the pad pressing squarely onto the disc as a result the pad wore out at the back of the pad first and was finally scraping the disc when I took the car in for fitting.
