    Default Vectra failed mot

    just picked up the vectra after its mot and its faild on a broken coil. the tester came out with a part of the coil in his hand so gutting as it passed on everything else. how hard are they to change ?

    They are not too hard to change if you have a spring compressor.

    Supply your own spring and find garage to fit it, shouldnt charge more than £30

    You will have to change the pair mate, its good practice. First one will take you a bit of time then the second one you could do easily in 20 mins once you know the way round it. Spring compressors are a must for the front but not needed for the rear. There is a How 2 for it mate. Trust me, if you have the right tools its easy if you follow all the steps.

    rang a few places for the coils alot cheaper than i thought then i rang vauxhall to see what silly price they give as id rather use genuine parts the man on the phone couldnt belive the price he said they normally come in at over £100 but the computer is saying £38 which is a bargain as the local motor factors wanted £37

    That will be for 1 coil I think as thats what I was quoted £76.48 for the pair........But my mate got a pair for £58 from CES for the sri.....
    Shame you dont live near telford my mate charges £40 to do both.
