strange braking issue...

On the way home tonight going a lil quicker than I should had to jump on the brakes a little.. as normal brakes bit nicely and scrubbed off loads of speed...came off the pedal then back on and pedal was hard to depress and felt that braking efficiency was crap.. came to a stop..restarted off and everything felt ok again???? I've got 360mm 6pots up front/325mm 4 pots rear, red stuff pads, braided hoses and dot5.1 fluid so fade/boiling brake fluid shouldn't be an issue (though not really symptoms of fade).. any ideas?

Sounds like a vacuum issue...

You checked the vacuum hose for leaks/blockages?

vac seems to ok.. tried it again tonight and it was ok..hmmm funny one.

if you stamp on the brakes realy hard, the servo gets emptied of its vacuum and takes a little while to vac back up.

it happens on older cars usually
