    With the engine being turbo charged anyway, heat soak I wouldn't worry about. It's going through a stinking hot turbo before it hits the intercooler to cool down again. I'd love to know what a CDTi and a DTi would sound like with a cone on. When I did the 10k Boost on my car it screamed with the intake pipe off the air box.

    Mine screamed/ whined quite a bit too but i sprayed it straight down the turbo inlet pipe which is only about 1m long on the CDTi. I've heard a Bora tdi with an induction kit on sounded like a cross between a tractor and truck. Think it was the low revs. The V6 was great. Must be the 2 extra pistons that make it sound like it's revving that little bit higher.

    It's even shorter than that on the DTi - probably no more than 50 or 60cm because the turbo is at the back of the engine but high up so really doesn't have far to go. Might pick one up off Ebay just to see what it sounds like. See about making a little enclosure for a proper sized one where the standard box sits.

    the V6's is up top too...but the dti has a turbo the size of a referees whistle unlike the V6 which is like a vacuum cleaner (as i discovered when i opened up the airbox)!
