Exclamation Anyone local and handy with a spanner?? :(

    Hi all,

i'm having issues with my vectra at the moment. Clutch went the day I bought it and that's just one piece of the pie...

Not having much luck at all at the moment...

Anyone local who might fancy lending a helping hand?? Would be weekend - (2nd/3rd April)

The car at the moment is in Taplow/Burnham (Junc 7 of M4) Just outside of Maidenhead.

Can anybody help please? Would really appreciate it.

    Hi there,

No problems - thank you for responding Grumpy1954!

Hi Caveman nige....yes I probably will just go down the new parts route.

When I put my foot down to the floor in the car it won't let me engage any gear...

what do you think that could be? One guy on here seems to think its the Slave/Master Cyclinder...any ideas at all?

There were no funny smells or any clutch slipping before this...

    thanks,

    thanks,

could be either of these or it could be your pressure plate springs or the arm in the bell housing could be bent

    Hi all,

You may have seen my threads about my clutch and not being able to get the car into gear....

well....I went over to the car tonight as I needed to get it back to my house so took a train over.

I then approached the car and started her up....WEIRDLY...it went into gear and I was able to drive off...only problem was the handbrake was seized on ( i could feel the resistance)

So i drove off and for fear of not being able to get it into gear on my journey home and being stranded somewhere else I took the motorway.

Driving down the slip road all was fine then onto the motor off I went...As I was accelerating up through to about 80 mph....It eased off without me doing so as if you have your foot right down to the floor and your are running out of petrol/diesel. Do you know what I mean? As if the acceleration isn't constant. I wasn't out of diesel...I had a quarter of a tank left....

Nonetheless I carried on and the car would go no faster than 75mph at a push...

Came off the motorway at Junc 12 of M4 and as I accelerated away from the traffic lights the car will not rev above 3000rpm....

Struggled to get up a steep hill in Calcot but got there in the end and now the car is parked outside....First thing I have done is report this back on here to see if anyone knows what the hell is going on?!?!?!

    PLEASE HELP!
