Default How much for VX oil?

Car goes back into dealer tomorrow after doing a 1000 mile oil consumtion test. They overfilled it to start off with now after 1000 miles its just of the bottom of the minimum mark. Took pics to prove the overfill then 1000 mile mark. Want to go in with all the numbers so doesanyone know the price for VX oil per liter. Its the stuff for the 20000 mile service.

    indeed i do..

    Retail it's £8.90+v if you just buy a litre..buy 20 ltrs and it's £3.78+v

super bargain trade club..£4.52+V for a litre or £2.26+V if you buy 20 ltrs.

These are VX's selling prices.. They buy it in for about a pound a litre in 205ltr drums..

20,000 interval is the 5W-30 super synthetic longlife..

i think your prices are wrong,£3.78 for 20 litres also it costs a lot more for a litre of 5w30 oil in drums,as it costs £290-£300 per drum and most dealers tend to buy in bulk, more so in 10w40 semi

Cheers for that GSI3.2, Wanted all the prices so if they said it was normal usage I could say stick it as im not paying X amount just to get it from one service to the next. Anyway they said it is indeed far to much oil loss for just 1000 miles, so its booked in.

Why did they overfill it? Surely that wouldnt have done it any good?

indeed not.. could well pop an oil seal as the windage in the sump from the crank dipping in and out of the oil will cause a pressure buildup..

the reason im questioning is i work for a vauxhall parts dept so sell the stuff alot and 5w30 is not £3.78 for 20 litres even on trade club, unless you are talking per litre?

indeed..all the prices were per litre..

just showing that buying it in 1 litre tubs isn't the best way to buy top-ups..

bulk buying will give a lower per litre price.. that's what he was asking..
