Default Steering wheel still not looking straight after tracking

    Hi everyone

had MOT done and few repairs with it including tie rod end, drop link, and another repair to do with steering. this knocked the tracking well out, as after repairs when i was driving perfectly straight, the steering wheel was turned left.

i phoned the garage and they said i needed tracking done. went to plume tyres yesterday who did the laser wheel alignment (fronts) and now when i drive, the steering wheel is positioned much better when driving perfectly straight, but now only very slightly turned to the left.

shall i bother getting in touch with plume tyres again to correct this? or is this normal?

    thanks

Mine has done the same after four wheel alignment. it was fine the last three times it was done but now its not playing ball. They should have centered the steering when they done the alignment so it could mean your steering wheel needs to be moved slightly. I am going back next week to ask them and maybe re check it

    ok thanks for the reply

will give them a ring 2mara. but i'm assuming the tracking is fine? its just to do with steering wheel alignment? will this have any impact on the car/tyres etc? if left uncorrected?

    thanks

Sounds like they have just done a front wheel alignment, and not a full four wheel alignment

If the steering wheel is not level, take it back
The usual trick on obtaining the correct front wheel alignment is to concentrate on the toe only, typically one side only, which then results in the wheels pointing in the same direction, resulting in the steering wheel becoming offset; poor workmanship

Went back to original place, they did tracking again and it was out. They corrected it and now steering is perfect again :-)
