Default Urgent help required! Fitting electric seats

Right, just fitting my electric leather front seats, (really easy to bolt in and out btw!)

But I've hit a snag, I was told that the seats are just plug and play, I've put the passenger seat in, plugged in the harness, re-connected the battery but I don't have any electrical adjustment

I have a quick look in the owners manual and found that fuses for the front electric seat adjustment are located in positions 3 & 5 (both 40a) in the 1st aid kit fusebox in the boot, I didn't have any spares to hand so I pinched the heated rear window fuse (also 40a) just to try, popped it in the passenger electric seat position but still nothing.

I phoned the guy who I bought the seats off and he advised me that I may need to splice in to the live and earth for the cigarette lighter and then feed the wires to the spades on the seat side of the loom.

If this is what I need to do I'm comfortable with that, but which spades to I need to wire to?

Please help, the other half is on my back and wants to go out this afternoon and I'd love to get the seats in before then!

    Kev

Yes thats what you need to do. Can you follow the cables from the switch in the seat?
The memory side of things still will not work tho as that needs to connected to the canbus network

I'm not bothered about the mem part, just need it to be adjustable, seats not bolted down yet, the adjuster switches on the side?

Yes, its easy to remove the trim if you have to. Hopefully someone with TIS will come along soon and tell which wires it is

There must be wiring under the seat you can see? Chase the wiring on the main connector back and see where they all go. I would assume that if you find a RED wire that would be the only live going in. Make sure its not the airbag wire tho!

Pic is too small and fuzzy...

With regard to the cigarette lighter, would it not be better to take the feed from a permanent live?

Getting frustrated now, really just want to finish this seat and leave the drivers side for another day, will it be two wires from the large multiplug on the seat side that I need to get power to?

Right, looking from the back of the seat there's a silver motor on the rhs of the seat, with a small plug and 2 wires going into it (green and red iirc) he said figure out which is + and - then snip it and take the 12v feed from the car to it, apparently that will then give power to the switches according to the guy I got them from?
