Unless they are priced around the 4-£500 I would say no they are fakes.
Mmm I guess not then. I thought as much as if they were that good then why does everyone not have them?!
Anyone near me have something that can activate rain sensor and xenon lights?
People do use these Illegal copies for basic dtc's but the forum does not support the idea. It is not recommend for programming as there has been a few horror stories with people causing damage to their ecu's etc
Op-Com is the fake version of Vaux-Com
So ALL 'Op-Com' are fake's
not true the Vaux-com is the the uk based version of the original Op-com
http://www.op-com.hu/Default_EN.aspx
VAUX-COM is a trademark of AutoM3
There are both legal and "hacked versions of "ALL" diagnostic and programming devices.
As said above, if the unit costs less that 600 euros... approx £450.. then it is a pirate copy.
Saying that though, even fully legal OP-Com / Vaux-Com devices are not quite as good as the original Tech 2 system.
Although recent "official" versions of Op-Com, are now less fraught with things going wrong... Auto3M and Ilexa have finally started to sort out many of the glitches...
Most problems are now down to user errors.
So in a nutshell...
It is totally acceptable to discuss original / legitimate equipment...
but it just happens that most people cannot justify the expense of a legal programmer.
If you have any programming queries, then by all means visit the "Ilexa" website and forum.
Well I had already ordered one when I started this thread before realising what it was. How come they don't get in trouble selling them on ebay?
I think i will use it for diagnostic purposes and pay to get bits programmed!!!!!
Well maybe they should close it, wasn't really discussing the programs were we? I don't think they should delete because I think this thread serves a purpose. I had heard the terms op-com, vaux-com, etc around the forum and I had no idea about these illegal ebay copies. I came across them by accident and thought that looks good. I bought it and then realised. If I had seen this thread first I don't think I would have and had £30 towards getting it properly tech 2ed. Oh well. I emailed seller and they say they are selling the interfaces not the software!!!!!
